Tiwi Islands Regional Council operates waste management facilities at Wurrumiyanga, Pirlangimpi and Milikapiti. All rate payers contribute to the cost of managing and maintaining these facilities.

Two garbage collections per week for one bin costs $608/annum residential

One garbage collection per week for three or less bins costs $500 per allotment with additional bins per rateable property costing $200 each

The commercial waste management charge for businesses who do their own bins is $965/annum
